Gloomhaven – Forgotten Circles review

Hello! It’s been quite a while since I last posted. I’m having severe issues with WordPress’s new editor and posting pics; I can’t get them to line up the way I want, which is very frustrating. I have some Gloomhaven class guides to do but until I get the pic thing figured out they will have to wait. In the meantime, we finished up the Gloomhaven expansion, Forgotten Circles, and I thought I would give you my thoughts on it.

Gloomhaven – The final review

I was reminded that I haven’t posted a Gloomhaven update in a while, and I am here to let you know that we have finished the base game! “Finished” in GH means completing the scenario that is the end of the story; you’re never going to finish every scenario or open up every unlockable in a typical playthrough. So how do I feel about the game after a year and a half long campaign? Read on to find out!

Pick 6: Fun Gloomhaven Items

Hello! This blog does still exist! Our group is still enthusiastically playing Gloomhaven and of course there are lots of other games to talk about, but I thought it would be fun to get back into the blog by reviving Pick 6. And while there are lots of lists of the most powerful items in GH that let you crush, kill, and destroy, this is going to be a list of items that are fun to play. They are definitely still useful, but more importantly, they’re just fun.

Note that there will be spoilers for higher prosperity level items, as well as items that are found in chests. Let’s get to it!

Gloomhaven – Circles Class Guide

I recently retired the Circles character after a long, long career (my personal quest was a brutal one). I really enjoyed the character, but I was ready to play someone new. And now I get to make a new guide! Let’s jump right in. Warning: ahead there be spoilers!

Gloomhaven update – it’s been a minute!

Hello! I haven’t updated our group’s progress in a while here. We played I believe 3 sessions with that group since the last update. They went well, and at the end of the third session two of us retired. I retired ole Triangles (thus the guide I posted) and got to unlock Circles, while my buddy retired his Angry Face and unlocked Eclipse. Yesterday was our first outing with our new characters and overall it went pretty well.

Gloomhaven – Triangle Class Guide

So now that I have played Triangles all the way through 9th level I wanted to put a guide out there for the character. I guess less of a guide (“take these cards and build your character this way!”) and more of a review/talk about my experience with the character sort of thing. Obviously there will be huge spoilers for the Triangle class, so be warned! One other warning: this post is looooooooooooong 🙂

Gloomhaven Live is Back!

We had our first live session in months yesterday and while it was great to see everyone in person, the game itself did not go well! Last week was easy mode, but this week most assuredly was not. Read on to find out what befell our intrepid crew.

Gloomhaven – Easy mode

Well, actually we were on Hard mode (+1 scenario level), but last week’s scenario was the easiest and fastest one we’ve had yet. I knew it would be an easy one for our group, but I didn’t know it would be that easy!

Gloomhaven double session

As I mentioned in the last update, we did end up playing two scenarios last weekend, and they went great. Playing a scenario a week has been fun since we get a little fix regularly, but one session always leaves you (me) wanting more; by the time you finish a scenario you’re really just into the groove and then it’s time to quit. So playing two last week was really nice.

The latest happenings in Gloomhaven

It’s been a couple weeks since I updated and we’re playing tomorrow so I thought I would throw out a quick update on what the crew has been up to. It’s been all good lately, definitely waiting for the other shoe to drop 🙂
